Applebee's Dining to Donate

OHS is trying a new kind of fundraiser! The Applebee’s restaurant at 9090 St. Charles Rock Road next to Ritenour High School has agreed to hold a “Dining to Donate” event on Tuesday, Sept. 9th from 11 AM to 9 PM to benefit our organization. We will receive 15% of the bills submitted with the official flyer which you will find in the link below and on our Facebook page.

Please pass an extra flyer on to a family member, friend, or neighbor! The board has designated the money raised from the event to have old reference books in our collection rebound. Thank you!

General Meeting

Our general meeting will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Frank Munsch Community Center located at
9225 Lackland Road
in Overland.

Sgt. Scott Barthelmass, who has been with the Overland Police Department for 17 years, will be our speaker. Sgt. Barthelmass is a 23-year public safety veteran. He has served as a volunteer firefighter for 23 years, law enforcement officer for 20 year and 16 years as an EMT/paramedic. For almost two years, he has volunteered with the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight program.  The mission of the Honor Flight Network is to fly America's veterans to Washington, D.C., at no cost to them, to visit those memorials honoring their sacrifices. Top priority is given to America's most senior veterans - survivors of World War II - and any terminally ill veterans who wish to visit their memorial. They are now beginning to take a growing number of Korean War veterans.

Sgt. Barthelmass plans to talk about the organization, the process to get a veteran on a flight, and what a flight/day consists of. Our friend and member Don “Harry” Dallas participated on a trip
with Scott on April 23, 2013.

Please bring canned goods to donate to a local food pantry.
Refreshments will be served.
